Language Arts: Language Arts instruction encompasses reading, writing, listening, and speaking and exceeds Arizona State Standards with a rigorous & challenging academic program. Reading instruction covers 5 critical areas – phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Phonics is taught through intentional instruction, using the Action Reading Program. Writing strategies follow the Handwriting without Tears Program, using the manuscript style.

Math: Math instruction also exceeds Arizona State Standards with a rigorous & challenging academic program. There is an emphasis on critical thinking, problem solving, reasoning, and evaluating, using hands-on tools and manipulatives.

Science: Children experience an entire week of “Science Camp” where they can explore, discover, and investigate physical, earth and space, and life sciences. Science is also integrated with communication, mathematics, religion, and technology.

Social Studies: Social Studies and History are integrated with Language Arts. They include current events, field trips, and ‘Scholastic Reader magazine’.

Religion: Our religious program is the ‘Catechesis of the Good Shepherd’. Children also attend mass weekly and participate in liturgies.
